Mobilize Mail Email Marketing Glossary

Above-The-Fold = What you see on your screen before scrolling down – or hitting the ‘page down’ key on your keyboard.  Your email communication ‘above the fold’ needs to be enticing the reader to scroll down to read more of your communication.  If you have a ‘special promotion or deal’ – place an image or lineage communicating it’s existence above-the-fold so you do not miss out of grabbing the attention of your subscribers.

Confirmed Opt-In (a.k.a. Double Opt-In) - Confirmed opt-in is a two step process. Once the subscriber has entered their details to subscriber an email is delivered to their email address requesting the subscriber to respond to a confirmation email, by clicking on a confirmation link. Only those subscribers who take this additional step are added to your list.  In your Mobilize Mail admin area you can view the number of ‘confirmed’ subscribers on your mailing lists.

CTOR (Click to Open Rate) = the ratio of unique clicks as a percentage of unique opens (unique views).  In Mobilize Mail’s statistics the CTOR provides you with an understanding of successful your email campaign was in getting the clicks per subscriber.

HTML email = presentation of your message with styling including unique fonts, graphics, colours and images.

HTML makes an email more interesting and when used properly can generate response rates up to 35% higher than plain text.
